Millikin Women’s Basketball in First Place in CCIW

The Millikin women’s basketball team turned in an outstanding defensive effort defeating Carthage College 62-42 on January 15 at the Griswold Center. The victory improved Millikin to 13-3 overall and 7-0 and in first place in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).
The Big Blue held Carthage to one free throw in the first quarter jumping out to a 21-1 advantage. It was almost three minutes into the second quarter before the Firebirds scored its first field goal. Millikin lead 37-11 at halftime. Carthage was held to 4-22 from the field in the first half. For the game Millikin forced Carthage into 25 turnovers with the Big Blue recording 13 steals and five blocked shots. Read More

Lady Redskins Prevail
The Sullivan Lady Redskins defeated North Clay in a C.I.C. vs N.T.C. Conference Clash Game Saturday night and came out on the winning side. After a slow start and a 22-18 halftime deficit, Sullivan came out strong in the second half to pull out the 50-42 victory with a great team effort.
Alaina Moore led all scorers with 16 on the night and also led the Lady Redskins with eight boards. Izzy Hay had eight points to go with her three steals, Emily Miller also scored eight and Shae Ellis and Kiley Dyer each chipped in six. Rounding out the scoring in the victory were Chloe Smith, Skyla Palmer and Bella Harden with two each. Read More

Sullivan Blue Dolphins participated in a home meet on November 13. The high point winners were as follows: In the open division for the girls: 1st Madalyn Booker, 2nd MacKenzie Erixon, 3rd Lilly Graham. In the open division for the boys: 1st Ethan Schmohe, 2nd Matthew Wesselman & Isaac Chambers, 3rd Miles Kersten. In the 13-14 year olds for the girls: 1st Emily Crosier, 2nd Zoe Conlin, 3rd Libby Henry. In the 13-14 year olds for the boys: 1st Johnathan Iacobazzi, 2nd Liam Donovan, 3rd Carson Swinford. In the 11-12 year olds for the girls: 1st Alivia Melvin, 2nd Cadence Schmohe, 3rd Ellie Lehman. In the 11-12 year olds for the boys: 1st Grant Martin, 2nd Henry Wooler, 3rd Jaden Miller.
