After suffering a devastating loss in the Lincoln Prairie Conference championship, the Sullivan Redskins regrouped and refocused on the future, not the past. They came out seeking revenge against those who got in their way. They ended the week with back-to-back thrillers on Friday and Saturday.
Argenta-Oreana
The first game of last week was on the road against the Bombers. While A-O has had struggles this year, they are a team that have been known to come up with tenacity and surprises. Knowing this, the boys got right to work in the first quarter jumping out to a seven point lead. The Bombers chipped away at that lead, bringing the game within three at the half. After a short breather at halftime, the Redskins brought back their own arsenal with a 22 point third quarter. They maintained that lead for the rest of the game, securing the victory 60-52.

Twenty SBD swimmers earned the opportunity to compete at the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis last weekend. Making the cut for this meet is no small feat; approximately 1,500 swimmers from across the nation were scheduled to attend, despite the storm that moved through the area, causing delays and schedule changes on Saturday, and ultimately the cancellation of Sunday’s events. Regardless of whether swimmers dropped time or added time, this meet was an experience like no other. Olympians compete in this pool. Sometimes experiences shaped by circumstances outside of our control teach the hardest — and most meaningful — lessons.

For the second straight year, the Sullivan Lady Redskins came out victorious in the championship game of the Lincoln Prairie Conference tournament. Seeded number one, Sullivan also was the tournament host in their new gym. The three tournament wins has brought the Lady Redskins record to 15-6 with a still perfect 6-0 conference record.
Unity Christian
Sullivan has faced Unity Christian earlier this season. The result of that first game was a win for Sullivan, 68-30. A lot can be said for consistency as the Lady Redskins easily advanced in the tournament with yet another win over the Lady Lions, this time 67-29.

The Sullivan Redskins still hold a winning record of 10-8 (3-2 in conference play). They play every game with tenacity, led by their enthusiastic coach Spencer Plank. Their record is somewhat misgiving though as many of those losses have been close games.
Cerro Gordo/Bement
The game last week against CGB was another one of those close ones. Sullivan was always within reach, but they could not quite bring the game even. The Broncos took the lead early on and held it, barely, for the entire game.
