Sullivan Boys’ Track Ties for Second at Quadrangular Meet

The Sullivan boys’ track and field team competed in the 49th annual Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Boys Invite Saturday and a quadrangular at Shelbyville last Tuesday.
The Redskins placed ninth out of 15 teams in the ALAH Invite with 25 points.
Tuscola won the meet with 86 points.
Five Redskins placed in the top ten.
Brodie Goss finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 110-meter hurdles with time of 43.81 and 17.61, respectively.
Leighton Burcham placed top ten in three events.
He long jumped 19 feet 5 inches for second place and triple jumped 36 feet 8 inches for sixth place.
He also ran the 100-meter dash in 12.32 for tenth place. Read More

Sullivan Girls’ Track Wins Quadrangular Meet

The Sullivan girls’ track team placed eighth in the Shelbyville Invitational Friday and won a quadrangular meet at Shelbyville last Tuesday.
Friday at the Shelbyville Invite, seven Redskins scored 28 points for eighth place.
Zoe Walton high jumped five feet for first place, and Alaya Bolin tossed the shot put 33 feet 5 inches for second place.
Emily White high jumped 4 feet 10 inches for fourth place and ran the 300-meter hurdles in 52.63 for fifth place.
Ally Elzy threw the discus 92 feet 7 inches for fifth place, and Keelie Fleener long jumped 14 feet 4 inches for sixth place. Read More

OV Girls’ Track Takes Fourth

The Okaw Valley girls’ track and field team took fourth place with 63.33 points in the 28th annual Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Invite Saturday.
Several Timberwolves scored points.
Mia Harris ran the 1,600 meter in 6:09.54 for second place, and Karlie Stauder took third in the 400-meter run at 1:05.41. Read More

Two Wins for OV Baseball Last Week

The Okaw Valley baseball team won two games and lost one this past week.
OV defeated Tolono Unity last Tuesday and Argenta-Oreana last Wednesday but lost to Greenfield Saturday.
Against Tolono Unity, OV scored one run in the first for the early 1-0 lead.
The Timberwolves took advantage of five Tolono errors to score runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning for the eventual 5-1 win.
Talon Russell and Eli Hagerman each recorded a hit and a walk, and Hagerman and Camden Coleman each pitched three innings in the win.
Hagerman finished with two RBIs, and Hank Yowell knocked in one run.
The following day, OV defeated Argenta Oreana 2-0 behind a 2-hit shutout pitching performance from Dalton McGill.
He pitched seven innings and walked four. He struck out nine. Read More

Second for ALAH Girls’ Track Team at Invitational Meet

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond girls’ track and field team placed second with 79 points in the 28th annual Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Invite Saturday.
Tuscola won with 98 points.
Kenli Nettles scored most of the points for ALAH.
Nettles won the 300-meter dash with a meet-record time of 26.09, and Alexa Miller placed third at 27.73.

Tuscola wins ALAH Boys’ Track Invite

Redskins Softball Team Takes Neoga in Extra Innings

The Sullivan softball team won one and lost two games last week.
The Redskins defeated Neoga last Monday but lost to Meridian last Tuesday and Maroa-Forsyth last Wednesday.
Against Maroa-Forsyth, Sullivan lost 16-1 in four innings.
Sullivan recorded four hits
Addison Darush, Morgan Moll, Katie Honchell and Abby Kirkwood each recorded a hit.
Honchell knocked in Kirkwood in the second inning for Sullivan’s lone run.
Meridian also defeated Sullivan by the ten-run rule. Read More

A Few More Runs Needed for OV Softball Team

The Okaw Valley softball team dropped four games this past week.
The Timberwolves lost to St. Anthony and Paris Saturday, Argenta-Oreana last Wednesday and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg last Tuesday.
Against St. Anthony, OV fell behind 6-0 in the third inning and then 12-0 in the fourth inning for the eventual 13-2 loss.
Madison Vogel, Bella Benning each Kailey George recorded a hit, and Benning batted in two runs.
Grace Bunfill walked and scored a run, and Vogel scored a run.
Bunfill suffered the loss, pitching three innings. She gave up three earned runs on three walks and six hits. She struck out three.
Vogel pitched two innings in relief. She gave up one run on four walks and two hits. She struck out one.
OV committed 10 errors in the field.
Earlier that Saturday, Paris defeated OV 19-4 in four innings. Read More

Conference Formed

Okaw Valley High School and Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School joined 13 schools in forming the Lincoln Prairie Conference.

Salt Fork’s Seven Run Sixth Inning Too Much for Redskins

The Sullivan baseball team dropped three games this past week.
The Redskins lost to Salt Fork Saturday and Rantoul Friday in the Tuscola Showcase at Ervin Park in Tuscola, and the Redskins lost to Meridian last Tuesday.
Against Salt Fork Saturday, Sullivan took a late lead only to watch it disappear in a 10-5 loss. Read More
