Detention Center Kitchen Makes Progress

Progress toward installation of kitchen services at the Moultrie County Detention Center are underway.
Rick Matthews, buildings and maintenance superintendent, reported that Eichenaer Services of Decatur is preparing for installation of convection ovens and the walk in cooler, which will make the jail kitchen functional.
Sheriff Chris Sims explained he could save up to $30,000 in feeding expenses for Moultrie County Jail prisoners by providing meals in-house. By utilizing a statewide commissary company, the sheriff estimated a $2.00 a meal cost.
