Dove Financial Assistance
Dove Financial Assistance, a program of Dove, Inc. is coming to Moultrie County to assist those seeking one-time financial assistance for an emergency need.
This program began serving clients on Wednesday, November 20, at the United Methodist Church, 216 W. Jefferson, Sullivan. The hours will be Wednesday mornings, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
DFA is a joint effort of area religious organizations to give monetary support to persons who have emergency financial needs. DFA provides a systematic way to verify needs and provides a central location for persons seeking assistance. Those seeking assistance fill out an application which is reviewed and decisions to requests we can grant are determined, up to $300. Funds are distributed directly to the vendor. A person can be helped more than once. However, 365 days must pass before he or she may be granted assistance again.
The Coordinator also works with other service providers, making referrals and sharing other agency services with applicants.
Rev. Shane Hartman is the Coordinator for the program. DFA is also in Shelby and Macon County. The DFA phone number for all program is 217. 433.7435 and Dove’s website is doveinc.org.
