As head coach Andy Wagner described senior golfer Paige Harlin, last year she was just happy to be at the state tournament in Decatur. This year, she wasn’t happy with her 27th place finish despite it being a marked improvement from the 56th place she earned the year before.
“It could have been really, really good,” said Wagner of the first day of the two-day state series. “Sitting in the top 20 after day one, it was really neat, but we talked all the way home about how she really did not putt well at all. What was an 82 could have very easily been a 75 or 76. Of course, we were pleased, but, probably the best way to put it is we weren’t satisfied.”
