Honor Blood Drive Sept. 16
•September 13, 2017•
Sullivan Church of God is partnering with the Sullivan American Legion to host a Red Cross Blood Drive September 16 at the Sullivan American Legion. This drive will be open for donors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This drive is an HONOR drive for River Helmuth. River is the 18 month old daughter of Tony and Stephanie Helmuth of Sullivan. River was born with medical issues that have required several transfusions to save her life. She has had multiple surgeries where she has also received blood. All donations collected on the 16th will be given in honor of River for other patients to receive. With a critically low blood supply in the United States, all donations are needed.
There will be many door prizes given away at this drive that were donated by businesses and individuals in the Sullivan area.
Walk-ins are welcome, however, having an appointment ensures adequate staffing by the Red Cross and will decrease donor wait time. This is a large drive, and it is highly recommended that donors make an appointment. Donors are asked to be patient while waiting due to the increase in appointments at this drive. Appointments may be made by calling drive coordinator Jeri Davis at 273-9456 or going to redcrossblood.org and scheduling an appointment.
