The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced last week a restricted archery-hunting zone for deer hunting in east central Illinois which includes Moultrie County.
According to the Wildlife Department, the population status in relation to the state goal is down in Moultrie, Champaign, Douglas, Macon and Piatt.
In Moultrie deer population status is down 14% below goal.
