The Illini Prairie CEO class is selling face masks with proceeds to benefit their next project in the spring, their individual businesses. There are 14 students in the class and in order to have enough money for all of the students to start up a small business of their own, they need to have a way to obtain seed money for each of them.
According to Illini Prairie CEO student Alexa Hauser, the group will be selling six face masks, four of those will be catering to the four representing communities that are involved with the class: Arcola, ALAH, Tuscola and Sullivan and will feature the individual school’s logo and colors. The other two are winter themed masks.

Hauser said that usually the class business would be an event that they would host. “Considering all of the concerns with COVID, we wanted to make sure everyone in the community could still be involved with our class while also being COVID friendly,” she said “We have spent the last couple months making sure that our customers will be getting the best products at a reasonable price.”
The Illini Prairie CEO class was just introduced to Sullivan this spring but has been in the area for the past several years. The class helps develop young entrepreneurs (juniors and seniors) from Sullivan, Arthur, Arcola and Tuscola by exposing them to real world business opportunities.
Students in the class learn about the business world and how it functions. They do that by going on business visits, virtually, and have class speakers to help them understand this even more.
The president of the board for Illini Prairie CEO is Megan Parson and facilitators are Christi Mulligan and Mac Condil.
Cost for the masks will be $12 each but they are also offering a 3 for $30 deal. There are links to the order forms on all of the group’s social media pages and QR codes that will send you a form around town. Once you have received a form you can choose how many and what kind of masks you would like.
All payments will be done online as well. There is an option to have masks shipped to your home, at the expense of the customer, or to meet at a location to pick up the masks on a certain date and time.
