It was no secret that senior quarterback Tyler Schuring was going to be Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond’s biggest threat this season. But just to solidify the notion, Schuring went 7-13, throwing for 217 yards, two touchdowns, and grabbing up the school’s career passing yardage record in his team’s 41-10 win over Martinsville Saturday.
“He’s our big play guy,” said father and head coach Dale Schuring. “I didn’t think he threw it super accurate today, but I also thought that most of the balls he threw were catchable, and we didn’t catch again, which was a major problem week one. I think our receivers caught better today, but they’re going to have to make some tougher catches because as of right now unless he sticks it right in the middle of their chest, they’re not catching it. He’s pretty good, but you can’t expect him to throw every pass there. Again, better than last week. We’re making progress. He’s a big weapon, and we try to use him as much as we can.”
