Going into the regular season, OV head coach Jody McCormick wanted to take advantage of her team’s heightened, well, height, in the form of a formidable front line attack. Tuesday evening was the first test of such hope, but Tri-County had its own killer offense to beat back any impending OV attack, leading to a two set 25-14, 25-16 loss for the Lady Timberwolves.
“I didn’t get my wall like I was hoping,” said McCormick, who is in her second season as the head coach at Okaw Valley. “But we’re going to work on that, really hard.”
In the first set, the Lady Titans got out to a quick lead and ran away with the game. The only flicker of life from OV came via junior Megan Dash whose hard hitting serve accounted for three aces and five points to pull her team within four points of the Titans at 13-9.
