Pictured above was a Lovington home located on S. County, aka route 32. The original 2 lots were purchased in 1894 by Thomas and Priscilla Dawson who purchased them from W. G. Cochran. The Dawsons had a smaller wood frame home on the lots. In Sept 1918, Estelle Dawson, daughter in law of Priscilla, sold the property to Oliver and Linnie (Bailey) Pargeon. They had the old house demo’d and in the May 1919 construction began on this home. Please submit photos to the News Progress for future consideration. Originals will be saved for return or forwarded to Moultrie County Historical Society. If you have any other information, please contact the Moultrie County Historical Society at 217-728- 4085.
