Summer Energy Assistance Available Until July 23

June in Illinois: Warmer and Wetter than Average

The statewide average precipitation for June in Illinois was 6.78 inches, 2.58 inches above average and the eighth wettest June on record, according to Illinois State Climatologist Jim Angel, Illinois State Water Survey, University of Illinois.

Shimkus’ Staff To Be In Lovington July 9

Congressman John Shimkus (R, Illinois-15) will have a member of his staff in Moultrie County 10:30 a.m-noon Wednesday, July 9 at the Lovington Village Hall, 222 South Railroad Street.

“These office hours allow you to meet face to face with my staff instead of over the telephone or having to drive to Effingham or Danville,” Shimkus explained. “The staff person will be able to handle any issue you may have regarding my office or the federal government.” Read More
