Colleen Harchous
Celebration of Life services for Colleen S. Harchous, 86, of Sullivan were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with the Rev. Grant Wade officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
She passed away at 8 a.m. Saturday Oct. 12, 2013 in her residence.
Colleen was born March 18, 1927 in Sullivan, a daughter of Murray and Bessie Elzy Shaw.
She had worked for the Armour Creamery, Kaiser Ag Chemicals, Sullivan schools, Lancaster Drug Store and the Moultrie County Clerk. Colleen was a member of Sullivan First Christian Church and Moultrie County Historical and Genealogical Society. She married Don Harchous Oct. 1, 1948 in Bethany, and he survives in Sullivan.
Also surviving are her sister Jan (Bob) Lemler of Key Largo, Fla.; nephews Terry (Theresa) Shaw of Sullivan and Wes Lemler of Key Largo; nieces Kathlynn (Thom) Risley and Marci (Pat) Thompson, both of Sullivan, Gail (Allen) Price of Mattoon and Stephanie (Lee) Campbell of Windsor and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Glen and Keith and sister Wilma DeVore.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Sharyn Lowe
Celebration of life services for Sharyn Lee Lowe, 75, of Sullivan were held at 1 p.m. Sunday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan.
She passed away at 11:52 a.m. Friday Oct. 11, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sharyn was born Feb. 24, 1938 in Tuscola, the daughter of Vernon J. Boylson and Virginia L. Toney Dowler. She married William D. Lowe Dec. 22, 1953 in Hammond. She was a military wife for 20 years and was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sharyn was an artist and sold many paintings and crafts. She taught cake decorating classes and made numerous wedding cakes.
She is survived by her husband William; sons Kenneth (Kimberly) Lowe of Hobart, Ind. and Toney Lowe of Arthur; daughters Beverly (Randall) Riggins of Columbia, Terry (Donald ) Swaim of Sullivan and Patricia (special friend David Clifford) Hall of Hobart; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Toney Boylson, grandson Brock Riggins, stepfather Charles Dowler and grandson-in-law Lewis Lingafelter, Jr.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
