John Brandenburg

John J. Brandenburg, 80, of Sullivan, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 in his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, November 19 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services. Face masks are suggested, and please practice social distancing for the services. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery in Lovington. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.•November 18, 2020•
John was born January 4, 1940 in Decatur, the son of Randall Van and Leona May (Napier) Brandenburg. He married Sharry Dabbs June 12, 1960 in Decatur, and she preceded him in death September 13, 2008. He married Beverly A. Curry May 15, 1986 in Sullivan. John enjoyed woodworking, hunting and sheet metal work.
John is survived by his wife Beverly; son Timothy (Helen) Brandenburg of Bethany; daughter Angela (Mike) Gossett of Decatur, stepdaughters Cathy (David) Coker of Taylorville and Kimberly (William) Rozanski of Mt. Zion; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Pat Thompson and brother Ray Stinson.
