Juanita J. “Nita” Griffin, 92, of Lovington passed away at 7 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield surrounded by all of her children.
Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bethany at 10 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A prayer service was held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Lovington. Burial was in St. Isidore Cemetery in Bethany.

Nita was born August 1, 1925, a daughter of Joseph E. and Jewell Taylor Briscoe. She married John R. Griffin November 27, 1947 in Bethany, and he preceded her in death February 18, 2013. Nita was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bethany.
She is survived by her sons Mike (Tammy) Griffin of Springfield, Dan (Jaci) Griffin of Stevens Point, Wis., Jim (Lisa) Griffin of Sullivan, Tom (Brenda) Griffin of Royse City, Tex. and Rob (Sue) Griffin of Springfield; daughters Alice (Mike) Misfeldt of Columbia, Mo., Becky (Jim) Huff of Fenton, Mo. and JoAnne (Mike) Preston of Plain, Wis,; brother Joe (Barb) Briscoe of Casner; sisters Lora Coulthard of Sterling and Viv (Bill) Evans of Albany, Ore.; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son David and brother Waldo.
Memorials may be made to the St. Isidore Cemetery Fund.
