Bryan Selock

Bryan Andy Selock passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the age of 69 in Decatur after a long battle of cancer.
Bryan was born August 5, 1950, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the son of Samuel and Norma Jean (Pressey) Selock of Sullivan.
Surviving are her two brothers, Terry (LaDonna) Selock of Gypusm, Kansas, and Samuel (Carol) Selock of Kansas City, Missouri; three nephews; two nieces; and eight great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Brad Andrew Selock of Lansing, Kansas.

Andy will be truely missed by his family. We will miss his sense of humor and his ability to put a smile on our face.

Honoring Bryan Selock's wishes, cremation services have been provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. Sherry A. Gregory, 86, while in her sleep went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sherry’s wishes were for each person to remember her in their own special way. Memorial graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Keller Cemetery, Lovington, with Pastor Rodney Houser officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God, Lovington, or to the Lovington Volunteer Ambulance Service. McMullin-Young Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
Sherry was born April 17, 1933 in Lovington, the youngest daughter of Les and Neva (Wiley) Murphy. She married Bryan T. Gregory on January 19, 1959. She was a retired employee of IL Bell Telephone Company; Sherry was a people person and never met a stranger. She enjoyed flowers and backyard gardening. She was a member of many clubs and organizations throughout Central Illinois. Being active in her Church, Faith and the Order of the Eastern Star brought her great joy. Yet, her greatest joy was her family.
Sherry is survived by her sister, Wilda “Wid” Hale of Lovington; daughter, Kelly (Joe) Nelson of Lovington; loved granddaughters, Whitney (Sean) Peecher of New Berlin and Bret Michelle Nelson of Lovington; loved grandson, Drake Nelson of Lovington; great-grandchildren, Elodie Jo and Dawson Michael Peecher.
Preceding Sherry’s entrance to heaven were her parents, husband, brothers, Dean and Charles “Cob” Murphy. Sisters, Virginia “Gin”Angel, Rachael Taylor and Shirley “Shird” Evans.

Sally Nolen, 78, of Sullivan, passed away at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday September 10, 2019 in Mason Point, Sullivan.
Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the Elizabeth Titus Memorial Library, the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.
Sally was born September 3, 1941 in Chicago the daughter of Ernest Edward and Mildred Ashworth Wilkinson Elder. She was retired from PPG in Mt. Zion. Sally attended the Cowboy Church in Arthur and a member of the Glass Workers Union. Sally was a strong advocate for the environment, loved the outdoors and her cats. Sally married Paul Eugene Nolen on December 23, 1960 in Sullivan and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1988.
Surviving are her daughters Martha Suzanne (Suzi) Nolen of Sullivan and Mary Joanne (Dan) McRill of Sullivan; son Tim Eugene (Michelle) Nolen of Sullivan; sisters Ernestine Edna Meyer of Bourbon, Indiana and Ada Florence Brumett of Decatur and grandchildren Will Nolen, Cody McRill and Michael Nolen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two step brothers.

Storm leaves damage in its wake

The storm that occurred in the evening hours of June 11th produced wind gusts of up to 70 mph left many locals without power, with many experiencing damage to property ranging from mild to extreme.
