Dr. William Richard “Dick” Kite of Crawfordsville, Ind. (formerly of Laguna Woods, Calif.) passed away Saturday February 2, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dick truly lived out his alma mater’s motto – Wabash Always Fights!
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, 307 S. Washington St. in Crawfordsville, Ind. Saturday April 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan, Ill. Read More

Hal R. Harshman, 85, of Sullivan, passed away at 1:44 p.m Monday March 4, 2019 in Aspen Creek in Sullivan.
Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday in the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ with Vanessa Patient and Brigham Hagerman officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to Moultrie County Habitat for Humanity, the Moultrie County Food Pantry or to the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.
Hal was born July 29, 1933 in Decatur the son of Romaine M. and Margaret M. Howell Harshman. He was a life long member of the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ and had been a board member for the Moultrie County Habitat for Humanity. He had worked for George Tractor for two years and then he purchased Hagerman Company in 1960 and the continued to own what became Harshman, Plumbing, Heating and Electrical in Sullivan for over forty years and during that time he also did research for Alcoa on refrigerated grain bins. He married Phyllis G. Hord on May 9, 1953 in Sullivan.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis; daughters Linda (Lindsey) Parrish, Amy (Jim) Galligan and son Keith (Cindy) Harshman all of Sullivan; brother Ron Harshman of Sullivan, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, three bonus great grandchilden and a great grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son in law John Hagerman.

Joanie Warf, 79, of Arthur passed away at 7:25 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 in the Arthur Home.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, February 27) at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St. in Arcola.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Arthur Cemetery.
Joan was born April 27, 1939 in Arthur. She is a daughter of Floyd Russell and Lucille Margaret Adams Vaughn. She married Max Warf March 28, 1956 in Paris, Ill. Read More

Clark Foster, 72, of Berea, Ky., formerly of Sullivan, died Wednesday, February 13 in VA Medical Center Hospice Care in Lexington, Ky.
Clark was a loving husband to Betty Jo Grayum Foster for 25 years, a father figure to three grown stepchildren: Mike Emerson, Joy Emerson, and Johnnie (Donna) Smith, devoted PaPaw to nine step-grandchildren: Kaitlin (Gunny) Dean, Tyler Poynter, Johnna Smith, Lindsey Poynter, Cloe Emerson, Matthew Poynter, Alex Emerson, Donovan Smith, Klaire Emerson, and five great-grandchildren: Kamryn Watts, Tristen Poynter, Malachi Dean, Asher Lee and Lilliana Dean. Clark is also survived by his sister Karen (John) Stinson of Lovington; sister-in-law Phyllis Foster of Kirkwood, Mo. and several nieces, great- nieces, nephew and great-nephews. Read More

Benjamin Troy Yarnell, 43, of Sullivan, passed away 8:37 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, at his home in Sullivan.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness “NAMI” of Effingham: P.O. Box 1726 Effingham, IL 62401 or to the donor’s choice.
Ben was born August 10, 1975 in Decatur, the son of William Roger and Sue (Wells) Yarnell. He was employed as a Captain for Spirit Airlines. He attended the Vineyard Church in Sullivan. Ben enjoyed motocross, boating, snowmobiling and golfing. He loved spending time with his family and God sent many special people to be in Ben’s life, including his very best friend Phil Dickens.
Ben is survived by his mother, Sue Yarnell of Bethany; sister, Erin (Ben) Booker of Sullivan; niece and nephews, Madalyn, Mason and Logan Booker.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.

The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
