Kenneth Cole

Kenneth E. Cole, 81, of Mesa, Arizona (formerly of Sullivan) died peacefully in his sleep at home December 17, 2020.
Ken was born April 14, 1939, in Sullivan, a son of Ora and Doris Cole. He married Donna Reedy in 1965. Ken served in the U.S. Army, worked in the grocery business in Sullivan, and retired from PPG as an electronic technician. Ken was quite skilled in repairing everything from a roof to an engine to a TV. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading the Bible, and attending church. In recent years he could be found every Sunday at VIA Church in Mesa. Read More

LuAnn Richardson, 64, of Arthur, IL passed away at 5:38 P.M. on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Heath Center in Mattoon, IL.

Celebration of LuAnn’s life will be held at a later date.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

LuAnn was born on September 14, 1956 in Decatur, IL.   She was a daughter of Maxie and Joan Anita (Vaughn) Warf.   She married Mark Richardson in 2011 in Charleston, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Mark; two daughters, Lisa and Kerrie both of Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK;  her father, Max Warf of Arthur, IL, two siblings, Teresa Miller and her husband Ken of Sullivan, IL and Steve Warf and his wife Gwyn of Arthur, IL, nieces and nephews, Stephany Barnes of Sullivan, IL, Doniella Warf-Snyder and her boyfriend Allan Middendorf of Columbia, IL, Christopher Warf of Arthur, IL, Drew Miller and his wife Heather of Sullivan, IL and Morgan Schum and her husband Jason of Sullivan, IL, a very special friend, Cheryl Godden of Mattoon, IL, and a close family friend, Wayne Pedigo and his wife Julie of Cave City, KY.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Joanie Warf.

LuAnn worked at the Powers School in Sullivan, IL as a custodian, for several years and later she managed the Citgo-Gasland gas station in Arthur for several years.

She was a big University of Kentucky fan and a Fighting Illini fan.

She enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Marjorie A. Luck, 83, of Bethany, passed away at 6:03 p.m.  Thursday, December 24, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with Adam McReynolds officiating.  Burial will be in the Marrowbone Twp. Cemetery, Bethany.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 7 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.   Face masks are suggested and practice social distancing.
Mrs. Luck was born November 10, 1937 in Macon County, rural Bethany, the daughter of R. M. ‘Johnny’ and Frances Daum McReynolds.  Marjorie was an administrative secretary for 40 years at Samuels, Miller, Schroeder, Jackson and Sly Law Office in Decatur.  She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bethany where she sang in the choir, participated in the Ladies Group and taught Sunday School.  She had been a 4-H leader for several years.  Marjorie married Morris D. Luck on September 11, 1960 in Bethany and he survives.
Also surviving are her children Cynthia ‘Cindy’ (Tom) Burch of Westervelt, David (Diolil) Luck of Bethany and Daniel ‘Danny’ (Marissa) Luck of Sullivan; grandchildren Wade Burch, Sarah Burch, Kinley Luck, Madison Luck, Hallie Luck, Landyn (Preston) Richardson and Mason Luck; great- granddaughter Brenna Howell; brothers Wayne (Phyllis) McReynolds and Dean (Jan) McReynolds both of Bethany; sister Martha (Mike) Carroll of Bethany; sister-in-law Sheila McReynolds of Bethany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jeanne and a brother Tom.

Elvon Edgar Fulton passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 5:17 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Elvon was the son of S. Edgar and Edna B. (Mundorf) Fulton. He was born January 11, 1940 at Jarman Hospital in Tuscola, Illinois.
Elvon graduated from Arthur High School in Arthur in 1958 where he played percussion in the band. He attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston from 1958-59. Read More

Lida E. Hess, 88, of Sullivan, passed away, 7:40 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one-hour prior the services. Face masks are suggested and please practice social distancing for the services. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to Sullivan Fire and Rescue.
Lida was born January 23, 1932, in Claytonville; the daughter of Roscoe and Nancy Susan (Robinson) Shell. She married T. Robert Hess on February 26, 1949 in Sullivan; he preceded her in death on May 28, 2010. She was a member of the Allenville Christian Church. Lida enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dogs Jack and Molly. Lida and her husband owned and operated Bob and Lida’s Cleaning Center.
She is survived by her son, Jim Hess of Sullivan; daughters, Susan Wood of Sullivan and Patty Hess of Sullivan. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Lida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Chuck Hess, and her brothers and sisters.

Judson J. ‘Jud’ Cameron, 84, of Sullivan, passed away at 3:53 a.m. Friday December 11, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jud was born June 15, 1936 in Highland Park, Illinois, the son of Judson Eugene and Emma Spitzer Cameron. He attended Newton Community High School and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with his bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in administration. He also attained a specialist degree from Eastern Illinois University. Jud had been employed by the Sullivan School District for thirty-three years as a social studies teacher and football coach. He was a member of the Illinois Teenage Institute on Substance Abuse. Jud was an IHSA track official for over 35 years. He worked at Sullivan Ace Hardware for over 25 years. A U.S. Army Veteran, he was an active 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Jud married the love of his life, Sandra Bork, on August 19, 1961. During Jud’s 59 years in Sullivan, he dedicated his time to his family and the development of Sullivan schools and sports. He helped develop the Saturday basketball program for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Jud’s pride and joy were his grandkids, as he was their biggest fan. If Jud wasn’t at the starting line, he was always in the bleachers cheering them on.
Surviving are his wife Sandy of Sullivan; daughter Amy (Ken Behl) Cameron of Springfield; sons Todd (Heather) Cameron of Denver, Colorado, Kurt (Kristy) Cameron of Chatham; brothers Richard (Millie) Cameron of Glenwood, Illinois, Philip (Mitsuko) Cameron of Roseville, California, and Michael (Leslie) Cameron of Marshall; sister Margaret (Rick) Cochran of Wheeler; grandchildren Jacob and Laine and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Martin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 15th at St. Columcille Catholic Church, Sullivan. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Reed Funeral Home Sullivan with Prayer Service at 4:30 p.m. Monday, December 14th. Rite of Committal and Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery. The family requests that everyone practice social distancing and wear face masks for the visitation and funeral mass.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Columcille Catholic Church or the Sullivan Sports Boosters. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.
Jud will forever be remembered as a faithful husband, brother, dad, grandpa, friend, coach, teacher, and devoted member of the parish.
