Celebration of Life services were 2 p.m. Monday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan with military rites conducted by Sullivan American Legion Post #68. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Read More

Frank Elzy

Frank Elzy, 87, of Sullivan, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 2020 in his residence.
Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan with military rites conducted by the Sullivan American Legion Post #68. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net. The family requests that those attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Frank was born August 11, 1932 in Sullivan, the son of William Hurl and Lottie Ballenger Elzy.
Frank had been a farmer and was a member of the Sullivan Highway Church of Christ. He had been a member of the Sullivan AMBUCS, the Sullivan American Legion Post and the Sullivan VFW Post and is a member of the Moultrie County Rural Public Water District Board. Frank was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He married Marilyn Wood on May 26, 1951 in Sullivan.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn of Sullivan; daughters Lisa Jean Elzy of Charleston and Tania Marie Davis of Searcy, Arkansas; brothers Richard Elzy of Alton, George Elzy of Lexington; step-brother Dale Hall of Tennessee; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Eric.

Thomas Bruce “Papa” Howen, 84, of Sullivan, passed away at 2:21 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Services will be held at St. Columcille Catholic Church in Sullivan Saturday, July 11 with visitation starting at 9 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Immediately following there will be a graveside service at Greenhill Cemetery where both Dianna Marie “Peggy” and Thomas Bruce “Papa” will be laid to rest with military rites by Sullivan American Legion Post #68. Wanda was born September 30, 1926, in rural Shelby County, Illinois to Artie D. and Mabel (Williams) Latch. She married Donald E. SES Preschool carnival a hit

On Thursday, May 15th SES and PTO sponsored a Preschool Carnival that included lunch, face painting, bounce houses, snow cone truck, playground activities, and games set up by sponsoring attendees.
