Illinois State Police District 10 announced that during the month of August troopers handled 1966 incidents. Three hundred forty-eight of those incidents were calls for service and assistance. Of these calls, 135 were to help motorists whose vehicles were disabled on area highways. Troopers stopped for a total of 333 motorist assist incidents and handled 83 crash reports, one of which was a fatal crash resulting in one death.

Criminal activities during the month included 34 arrests for criminal offenses. Troopers arrested 16 for drug charges and issued 13 citations for weapon violations.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
