Recent Obituaries: Linda Marie Lowe Beavers
Linda Marie Lowe Beavers passed from this world on October 12, 2025, at her residence in Chula Vista, California, surrounded by family, and entered into the Lord’s presence, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Roger Lee Beavers, who preceded her into heaven in 2013.
Linda and her sisters grew up in Sullivan, Illinois. They were especially close to their loving grandmothers, Maude Hennigh and Helen Lowe, and spent a lot of time with them after their mother passed away.
Linda met Roger when he was the high school quarterback. They fell in love and were married in 1959.
Their union was soon blessed with four children, and Linda cherished her little ones. She brought fun and laughter to her home, baking and involving herself in her children's activities, using her trusty sewing machine to whip out new clothes for school, and even whimsical family costumes for the Halloween parade.
Linda faithfully followed Roger through many career changes, as he sought to provide for the family, moving from Illinois to southern California in 1970, where she worked for the school district, to help with finances and still be home for her children.
Roger’s career led Linda north, after their children left home, first to Santa Maria, then to San Jose & eventually to Hollister, California, where they opened their own successful business, BEVO’s Ice Cream & Deli.
Linda helped Roger expand the business to include pizza and a second location. They eventually sold the business and retired to Lufkin, Texas, near their son Rick & his wife Darcy, where Linda found great joy in being near her four grandsons. There, Linda and Roger began regularly attending an Assembly of God church with Rick’s family, where they both grew spiritually in their Christian faith.
A few years later, Linda and Roger moved to The Villages, Florida, which was the perfect setting for two very active, social seniors! They enjoyed a semi-retired life of golf, pickleball, and anything fun! Linda loved the limitless opportunities for get-togethers with friends to play cards, games, or dance! Linda LOVED to dance. Any happy music would have her up and out of her chair, and this remained true her entire life!
Linda remained in The Villages after Roger passed, enjoying her work as golf ambassador on the Glenview Golf Course, until the age of 81. In June of 2024, she relocated back to the San Diego area to be closer to family.
Linda always made a home and a happy life for her family, eager to work hard, meet new friends and enjoy a fun & busy social life, which included making time for visits with her children and six grandchildren whenever possible.
Aside from her parents and Roger, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Louise Bottrell.
Linda is survived by her children: son Richard & wife Darcy Beavers, of Nashua, NH; son Bradley Beavers, of San Diego, CA; daughter Jackie & husband Craig Plummer, of San Diego, CA; daughter Natalie & husband Jeff Lepley, of Rye, CO; and her grandchildren: Luke Beavers, Ethan & wife Jen Beavers (great grandson Solomon Beavers & great granddaughter Adeline Beavers), Elisha & wife Fatima Beavers, Noah & wife Erin Beavers, Kelsey Plummer (great granddaughter Ophelia Kloehr), Emily Plummer & Kieran Locke; and by her sister Virginia & husband Bill Standerfer of Mattoon, IL, and a host of extended family and friends who will dearly miss her and her fun-loving spirit.
Family & friends are invited to attend graveside inurnment for Linda on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan, Illinois.
