Pamela Rives Guyot, 81, of Sullivan, passed away 4:45 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Bjornbak officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Memorials are suggested to the Sullivan First Baptist Church or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Mrs. Guyot was born August 19, 1942 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Charles E. and Guelda M. Glabb Rives. Pam graduated from Southern Illinois University/Carbondale with a BS in Business Education. She then graduated from the University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana with a MEd in Business Education. Pam started her working career as a High School Business teacher at Herrick HS, Noble HS and Onarga HS. She was an instructor at Lake Land College, Mattoon and Job Retraining Services. She was a Computer/Industrial Production Liaison for Homeshield Industries and worked for several local attorneys during tax season. She retired from the Moultrie County Circuit Clerk’s office as Deputy Circuit Clerk. Pam was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sullivan where she served as Trustee secretary, Financial Secretary, Memorial Fund Treasurer and former Sunday school/youth group teacher. Pam was a long time member of the Moultrie County Home Extension and was an avid flower gardener. Pam married Ben Guyot on November 18, 1967 at St. Louis, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband Ben; sons Trenton (Sue) Guyot of Webster Groves, Missouri and Brett (Leslie) Guyot of Sullivan; grandchildren Audrey Guyot, Andrew Guyot and Charles Guyot.
