Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Henderson and Pastor Al Rennert officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. High School Art Work Exhibited At Stifel

•January 30, 2019• By Ellen Ferrera For the News Progress More than 100 colorful and imaginative pieces of artwork from Sullivan High School students were displayed for public viewing at Stifel Company offices January 16. The works were created in last semester’s drawing class taught by art teacher Melissa Nichols. Attractively arranged on the walls were creations in ink, pencil, colored pencil, water colors and oils. Sullivan Post 68 Scholarships

This program offers one $1000 four year annually renewable scholarship with the application deadline Friday, March 29, 2019. EIU Enrollment Increases Seven Percent

•January 30, 2019• After reporting a five percent increase in spring-to-spring enrollment a year ago, Eastern Illinois University’s enrollment has jumped another seven percent from spring 2018 to spring 2019. According to official 10th-day data from the university, the university’s spring 2019 enrollment sits at 7,503 students—487 more than the previous spring semester. The increase follows a familiar trend for the university, which once again has seen considerable boosts to its freshman, graduate, and dual-credit enrollments. The Knights took a 15-point lead after the first quarter then went on a 14-8 run in the second quarter for a 33-12 halftime lead. The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
