State of Grace Performs

•January 9, 2019• The popular singing group State of Grace will perform in the First Baptist Church sanctuary at 6 p.m. Saturday, January 12.  The public is cordially invited to attend.  There will be a free will offering. First Baptist Church is handicap accessible. Enter the west door of the church to access the elevator. Wheelchairs and walkers are available on request.  Bathrooms on the first floor are handicap accessible. ALAH Girls Kick off Conference with a Win

•January 9, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond girls’ basketball team kicked off its Little Okaw Valley Conference games with a win against Decatur LSA Monday night. The Knights took control early by scoring 20 points in the first quarter while holding LSA to three. They added seven more points to take a 37-13 halftime lead. Meyer Earns Grant to Study Abroad

•January 9, 2019• Paisley Meyer grew up in Sullivan and went to high school in Mattoon experiencing life on the prairie without much exposure to the rest of the world. Now a student at the University of Illinois, the thought of studying abroad that seemed out of reach is suddenly within grasp. OV Boys Rescheduled for Cumberland

•January 9, 2019• The Okaw Valley boys’ basketball team lost to Neoga on the road Saturday. Okaw Valley jumped out early with a 7-point lead in the first quarter, holding the Indians to three points of offense. 25 Years Ago This Week Dee and Wayne Claytor won first place in the Bethany Lighting Contest. Second place went to Carroll and Sandy Ray, and third place winners were David and Kathy Doty. Mark and Judi Seeley won the award for best decorated outdoor tree, and Crowder Insurance won top honors as best decorated business. The overall winner of Lovington’s Lighting Contest is Carl Elzy.
