The Redskins knocked off Mattoon Monday, Pana Saturday and Okaw Valley Thursday to improve its record to 11-1 on the season. Monday night against the Green Wave, Sullivan jumped out to a 12-0 lead with just under three minutes in the first quarter when Emily White hit a 3-pointer on an out-of-bounds play. Technology committee chair Neil Bryan moved the two year subscription with a cost of $79.96 for each of the county’s 54 units be approved. OV Girls Knock Off LSA at Holiday Tourney

The Timberwolves split two games in the tournament. Friday, OV lost to Warrensburg-Latham in a close game, 47-43 but bounced back to knock off Decatur LSA 50-28 Saturday. The Timberwolves pounced to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter and took a 31-16 halftime lead. OV outscored LSA 15-8 in the third quarter and 11-4 in the fourth for the 58-28 win. State Ranking for Girls’ Basketball •December 19, 2018• By Mike Brothers News Progress Sullivan Community Unit District #300 approved an estimated 2018 tax rate decrease for property taxes payable in 2019. Supt. Ted Walk presented the $4,650,874 overall tax levy to the school board noting the 2018 rate of 4.0967% is a decrease of 0.0233%. Walk emphasized the district is taxing at 85% of the local recommended level by the state. Sullivan Bakery is Reopening

•December 19, 2018• The Traditional Sullivan Bakery will open again after the first of the year. New owners Dorrie Donnals and Steve Jankowski have reached a purchase agreement with Jerry and JoBeth Risely which will allow the bakery to remain open. Donnals who has 20 years experience in food service noted the Risleys have been wonderful help in getting the bakery open again. She and Jankowski are learning the baked recipes that made the Traditional Sullivan Bakery a favorite stop in downtown Sullivan. Supervisor of Assessments is IACO Officer

•December 19, 2018• Moultrie County Supervisor of Assessments Lori Barringer was elected secretary of the IACO ( Illinois Association of County Officials) during the fall conference in Peoria. Barringer was selected to the two year term at the two and one half day conference and is on path to the presidency of the IACO in six years. The first day consisted of education sessions which are required for the supervisor of assessments to maintain CIAO credentials. The second day had each County Officials Association meeting. Sullivan Council Approves Health Plan Changes

City Administrator Dan Flannell explained the council voted to follow the recommendation of health insurance agent, CF&H Insurance going with the proposal from Amwins Company. Commissioners voted to raise the over 65s retirees’ contribution for spousal coverage in line with the current employee’s rate of 40% with the city funding 60%.
