25 Years Ago This Week Lovington school district will host a teacher from Tokyo to teach the students some language, history and social studies courses. Takashi Takehara will be teaching during April and May as part of a learning program. Gregg Van Pragg has been hired as the new chief of police in Lovington. Thirteen area students were recently named winners in the Scholastic Arts Award Competition sponsored by the News Gazette newspaper in Champaign. Webb, a Sullivan High School student, was recently chosen one of 10 state winners in the Illinois National Public Radio essay contest. •April 4, 2018• Okaw Valley art students designed Vans for the Custom Culture Contest. The design team of seniors Hannah Landreth, Natalie Jeffers, Danielle Lochbaum, sophomores Isaac Tipsword, Jeramiah Wood, Emileah Drake and freshman Caiden Hansen developed a custom shoe design for the 2018 Vans Custom Culture Contest. Fear of falling can be just as dangerous as falling itself.
