Deborah Preston is appointed as Moultrie County Circuit Clerk pro-temp, replacing Linda Johnson. Former Moultrie County State’s Attorney John T Robinson joins in a partnership with Decatur attorney Joseph Vigneri. Wilma Spencer of Sullivan is elected as the new president of the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce. Jury Determines Moultrie County Man Unfit for Trial

•February 7, 2018• By Mike Brothers A Moultrie County jury determined Nathan Ragsdale, 39, was not fit to stand trial for the 2016 felony charge of disarming a police officer. “We, the jury, find the defendant Nathan Ragsdale unfit to stand trial and also that there is a substantial probability that the defendant, if provided with a course of treatment, will attain fitness within one year.” At 4:48 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 after 45 minutes deliberation the jury returned the “unfit” verdict for the Sullivan man. Sullivan Girls Knock Off Meridian in Regional

•February 7, 2018• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan girls’ basketball team dropped a game to Clinton Thursday but defeated Cerro-Gordo in the last regular season game, then won its first-round game in the IHSA Class 2A Arthur Regional Monday night. Monday night in Arthur, the No. 5 seeded Sullivan knocked off the No. 10 seeded Meridian 61-34. The Redskins took over from the start, outscoring Meridian 17-2 in the first quarter and 15-8 in the second quarter. Blue Dolphins Qualify at Circle City

In order to attend swimmers had to meet a qualify time in the events. SBD took the largest number of qualifying swimmers this season.
