•January 10, 2018• An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 9 a.m-1 p.m. Friday, January 12 in the Okaw Valley High School gym in Bethany. Any healthy individual, age 16 through 75, who meets weight requirements may donate blood. Donors should eat a healthy meal and drink an extra 16 oz. of water and fluids before donating, and they must bring identification showing a picture and a signature. •January 10, 2018• The annual meeting of the Moultrie-Sullivan Jr. Fair was held December 28 with Nick Voegel being elected president, Eric Stollard vice president and Dale Crawford secretary/treasurer. Voegel replaces long time president Nancy Kuhns who will continue to serve as a director and as a department superintendent. Several new members were elected to the board of directors. The 2018 fair will be held June 22 and 23 at the Moultrie County 4-H Center east of Sullivan, a month earlier than previous fairs. •January 10, 2018• October 18, 2017 A family donation to the city of Sullivan requesting a pavilion be built on the square has prompted a tangle of issues surrounding such a structure, and the city council has yet to come to an agreement. Scarlett A. McKinzie, 37, was sentenced to two years prison on charges stemming from a Feb. 10 bus crash at the Findlay Road/Rte 32 intersection. McKinzie pled guilty to the Class 4 Felony aggravated driving under the influence charge which prompted the sentence from Judge Hugh Finson in Moultrie County Circuit Court. Against Neoga, OV fell behind quickly and trailed 13-3 after the first quarter. The Timberwolves battled back in the second quarter, outscoring Neoga 13-5 to cut the lead to 18-16.
