Senior Night Win for OV Golf

•October 4, 2017• The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team knocked off Altamont Thursday and Teutopolis last Tuesday on senior night at Eagle Creek Golf Course. The wind improved the team’s record to 22-2 overall. OV defeated Altamont 180-195 to end its regular season. Cameron Nickerson and Austin Harshman each shot a 43 to win co-meet champion. … Read More

CEFS Offers Special Trip

•October 4, 2017• Central Illinois Public Transit is in the process of offering special trips for Moultrie County riders. According to mobility manager Nathan Nichols, the CEFS  trips will leave from Sullivan Elizabeth Titus Memorial Library, and he encourages those interested to sign up while seats are available. Trip one will be for a much requested trip to Arthur Friday, October 20. Participants will visit Beachy’s, downtown shops and have some homemade food at Yoder’s Kitchen. 25 Years Ago This Week Retired Boeing executive Lloyd G. Cochran, a 1933 graduate of Sullivan Township High School, was inducted into the SHS Hall of Fame during the alumni banquet. Cochran was an infantry commander with the third Army in the European campaign during World War II. He was a University of Illinois graduate in accounting and was in charge of auditing government offices before going to Boeing. Born in Jonathan Township, Cochran resided in Mercer Island, Wash. when inducted.
