25 Years Ago This Week Bethany school district selected Stewardson native Allan Manhart as new junior-senior high school principal. He has spent the previous 21 years in the Cissna Park School District as assistant principal and athletic director. Previous principal David Nolan accepted the high school principal position in Leroy. David Fehr spent 11 years bringing the Sullivan schools show choir program to national recognition. Fehr, a Cissna Park native, was musical director at The Little Theatre for 12 seasons and blended the school programs into Little Theatre performances. Bus Crash Defendant Waives Jury

•July 19, 2017• Scarlett D. McKinzie, 36, Mattoon returns to Moultrie County Circuit Court August 22 after waiving her right to a jury trial on July 13. McKinzie appeared in Moultrie County with public defender Marvin Hanson last Thursday. This allows the case to move toward a bench trial for felony charges filed by State’s Attorney Jeremy Richey in connection with the Feb 10, 2017 accident involving the Teutopolis school bus at the Hwy. 32 and Bruce-Findlay Road intersection.
