Drive-through dinner

•June 4, 2025• On Monday, June 7th, the Bethany Fire and Ambulance volunteers will be serving a “Drive-Thru Dinner” from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Menu includes pulled pork sandwiches smoked on hickory and applewood, baked beans, corn bread and chips. No tickets are needed for this $10.00 meal, but there are only 300 of them. Additionally, there will be free delivery for village residents. Johnson, 93, of Bethany, passed away 12:02 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Arthur Home in Arthur.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services Wednesday, at the funeral home in Sullivan. Burial will take place in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion. Nomination an honor, testament to his students •June 4, 2025• by DM Williamee Sullivan Schools 2024-2025 Interim Band Director, Chris Keniley, has been selected as a quarterfinalist for the 2026 Grammy Music Educator Award. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
