•May 31, 2017• Moultrie County real estate taxes were mailed May 26. The first installment is due June 30, 2017 and the second installment on September 1, 2017. Residents should look over their tax bills and make sure all of the information is correct. Read the back of the tax bill. It is the responsibility of the property owner to report all address changes to the assessor’s office at 728-4951. Sullivan Among Block Grant Recipients

•May 31, 2017• The city of Sullivan is receiving a $445,980 block grant from The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO.) Sullivan is among recipients of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Housing. Nineteen projects across the state were approved for funding totaling $7.23 million. These grants will help low-to-moderate income communities improve housing and rehabilitate and retrofit residential properties. Okaw Valley and Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond players fielded 12-out-of-20 of the selections. First-team LOVC pitchers included senior Timberwolves hurler Maddie Perrine and sophomore Knight Shelby Frederick. Perrine was first team pitcher for the second year in a row. Felix Hagerman Surrounded by his loving family, Felix Apollos Hagerman went home to his Savior Saturday, May 27 at 6:10 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. Felix was born at home in Sullivan August 27, 1929 to Apollos Hagerman and Orpah Harshman Hagerman. He married Patricia Ann Sitton of Marshall, Tex. in Sullivan February 27, 1960, and she survives. Felix is also survived by son David (Teresa) Hagerman, daughter Felicia (Dave) Benning, and honorary daughter Sandy Hagerman.
