•May 17, 2017• Healthcom is increasing awareness for Senior Fitness Month by sponsoring an Active Every Day 5K Run/Walk for the benefit of Mid-Illinois Senior Services in Sullivan. The staff of Healthcom Inc. is coordinating this fund-raising event, which kicks off at the Sullivan High School track/football field at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10. Those registering early get a $10 discount plus a participant’s t-shirt and tote with gifts. Those 65 years and older race free and may purchase a shirt. County Funds New Comprehensive Plan

•May 17, 2017• Moultrie County board members approved $25,000 to have a new Comprehensive Plan prepared by Coles County Regional Planning and Development Commission during the May 11 meeting. County board chair Dave McCabe reported that he felt a new plan could be a useful tool to help promote economic growth for the county. Planning commission executive director Kelly Lockhart explained that the Moultrie County plan would include an overview of the county and incorporated areas including economic factors, land use, housing and zoning information. Sullivan Women’s Civic Club Honors Scholarship Recipients

•May 17, 2017• The Sullivan Women’s Civic Club met May 8 in the Moultrie County Senior Center. Since the club initially started in 1976, May is the designated birthday month to celebrate the many years the club has been organized. Since 1976, the club has granted $45,600 in scholarship awards. Seniors receiving scholarships this year are Jazmyn James, Tabitha Kay, Mary Mackenzie Farley, and Ashlynd Risley. Scholarships were presented during Sullivan High School Awards Night by scholarship committee member Elizabeth Houser. Lowe 1 Precinct Poll Change

•May 17, 2017• Moultrie County Clerk Georgia England has announced that Lowe 1 Precinct’s polling location will change effective with the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election. The Precinct is now located at the Arthur Public Library, but will relocate to the Arthur Fire Department located at 323 W. Columbia St., Arthur. Voters will be receiving a new Voter Registration Card in the mail showing the new polling location the week of May 29th . There is an “Interested Parties Registry,” to receiving mailings, updates or hearing notices as the process moves forward. Presently, no one has signed up to be on that registry.
