•May 17, 2017• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond baseball team improved its record to 6-10 with wins over Mt. Pulaski, Cerro Gordo/Bement and Sullivan this week. Monday night, the Knights defeated Mt. Pulaski 13-6 to advance to the second round of the IHSA Class 1A Baseball Regional at Central A&M. •May 17, 2017• The Sullivan baseball team split a pair of games this past week, shutting out Shelbyville and losing to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Against the Rams, Sullivan scored three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to win the game 10-0 in five innings. Russell Baker Russell Dean Baker, 90, of Sullivan, passed away at 8:49 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. As per Russell’s wishes, no services will be held. Russell was born May 5, 1927 in Lincoln, a son of Harry and Hilda Milstedt Baker. He married Betty Whiteside in 1947; he later married Shirley Broughton in 1979, and they both preceded him in death.
