Dorothy Schwartz Dorothy Woods Schwartz, 97, of Alvarado, Tex. passed away May 1, 2017. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 4 in the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado. Interment followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado handled arrangements. Dorothy was born November 18, 1919 in Hays County near Buda, Texas to William and Mattie Woods. She attended Seton Hospital School of Nursing in Austin, Texas and graduated in September 1940 and continued her nursing career as an RN until her retirement in 1976. Sullivan School Supt. Resigns

•May 10, 2017• The recently elected Sullivan District #300 school board  faces a superintendent search following the regular meeting May 8. Superintendent Brad Tuttle’s resignation is effective June 30, 2017. Tuttle has accepted the superintendent’s position at Jerseyville #100 school district, located southwest with an enrollment of 3000 students. High school guidance counselor Krista Smith, middle school special education teacher Quentin Hanson, HS math teacher Clark Owsley, mentoring coordinator John Bertetto, and bus driver Eddie Miller submitted resignations.
