FFA Petting Zoo Draws Enthusiastic Crowd

•March 1, 2017• Last week was National Future Farmers of America FFA, and the Sullivan FFA chapter petting zoo and open house was visited by more than 900 people. All three Sullivan school attendance centers plus Sullivan preschool and folks from the public were treated to local chapter exhibits as well as Scovill Zoo which contributed more exotic animals to impress those coming to pet an alligator or python for the first time. ALAH Knights End Season at Regional Tournament

•March 1, 2017• By Jason Brown NP Sports The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond boys’ basketball team defeated Cerro Gordo/Bement and Arthur Christian but could not carry that momentum into a win at the Pana Class 2A regional. ALAH fell to Toledo-Cumberland in the regional 61-32 to end its season. The Knights trailed 13-4 after the first quarter and did not recover. Shandon Herschberger led the Knights with 11 points and two assists, and Kobe Wells and Will Cohan each scored five points. Lovington Kindergarten Pre-Registration

•March 1, 2017• Preregistration of kindergarten students for the 2017-2018 school year will be held noon-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 in the Lovington Grade School office. Any student who will be five years of age by September 1, 2017 and resides in the Lovington Grade School District is encouraged to attend.
