•February 15, 2017• The third annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at the Sullivan First Methodist Church is 4:30-6 p.m. Feb 28 in the Fellowship Hall. This free event marks the end of Mardi Gras and the anticipation of Lent, which begins the next day on Ash Wednesday. Everyone is invited to the celebration, which will include pancakes with toppings, sausage and drinks. Since it is a party, all who come eat free of charge. Millikin Percussion Ensemble Presents Free Synergy Concert

•February 15, 2017• Millikin University’s Percussion Ensemble will present its annual Synergy concert on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Kirkland Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public. Synergy showcases the distinctiveness of Millikin’s ubiquitous, interdisciplinary alliances through a collaborative concert featuring performances by students and faculty across the College of Fine Arts. Against Arcola, the Knights doubled the Purple Riders in the first quarter 16-8, before tacking on three more for a 34-23 halftime lead. The Timberwolves defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown in the Little Okaw Valley Conference Shootout Saturday and Cerro Gordo/Bement in a regular-season LOVC matchup Friday. Against St. Elmo/Brownstown, the Timberwolves had to come back from a 13-point deficit to defeat the Eagles 55-53. The Redskins lost to Central A&M Friday and to Shelbyville last Tuesday. Against the Raiders on senior night, the Redskins fell behind six in the first quarter, and CAM pushed that lead to 35-20 at the half. Booster representative Jon England presented a bags game and a $1000 check from the Redskin Super Boosters to SES social worker Poppy Graham and principal Daniel Allen. Blood Drive Falls Short of Goal

•February 15, 2017• The Findlay American Legion Auxiliary’s American Blood Drive hosted Feb. 8 at the Findlay Legion Post home in Findlay fell four pints short of their goal of 20 pints of blood. Twenty-two people came out to answer the call for blood donations with 16 pints collected. Wayne Dotson was recognized for giving 72 pints and received a nine gallon pin.
