•June 4, 2025• Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold its June Quarter Auction on Wednesday, June 11th. The event will be held at the Sullivan American Legion. The organization of the month is the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary Unit 68. Founded in 1919, they are made up of spouses, mothers, daughters, and granddaughters of veterans. They are dedicated to serving veterans, the military, and their families. The Sullivan Unit provides gifts for local nursing home veterans for various holidays throughout the year. •June 4, 2025• “Bingocize”, an evidence-based program that combines bingo with exercise, has announced its upcoming fall prevention exercise classes for people 60+, running through July 2nd. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Mid-Illinois Senior Services in Moultrie County. The program aims to enhance physical activity, improve balance, and reduce the risk of falls in a fun and engaging environment. •June 4, 2025• On Monday, June 7th, the Bethany Fire and Ambulance volunteers will be serving a “Drive-Thru Dinner” from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Menu includes pulled pork sandwiches smoked on hickory and applewood, baked beans, corn bread and chips. No tickets are needed for this $10.00 meal, but there are only 300 of them. Additionally, there will be free delivery for village residents. Johnson, 93, of Bethany, passed away 12:02 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Arthur Home in Arthur.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services Wednesday, at the funeral home in Sullivan. Burial will take place in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion.
