SBL Races for all Paces June 7

Fundraiser for SBL Dental Clinic •April 23, 2025• Spring is here, and that means it’s time to prepare for the Sarah Bush Lincoln Races for all Paces event, which is set for Saturday, June 7th, at Eastern Illinois University. The multi-race event includes a 5K, 10K, one-mile run/walk, toddler trot, and diaper dash and raises funds for the SBL Dental Program. The program provides preventive and restorative care for children throughout the area. SHS Students shine in Art/History project

Emotionally impactful exhibit provides a learning experience •April 23, 2025• High school students from Patricia King, Lori Kirk, and Lisa Bertetto’s classes recently completed a collaborative project inspired by a Moultrie County History Center workshop held last fall. The student-created artwork is currently on display at the History Center. King developed the project after attending a history-to-Go presentation about the Education Liaison’s World War II and Depression Era tub that was conducted by Becky Lawson and Connie Dunscomb. •April 23, 2025• The City of Sullivan will hold their annual Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Wyman Park parking lot, south of Wyman Lake. This event is open to those living within city limits and City of Sullivan utility customers. The clinic focused on the four species of livestock shown during Master Showmanship shows: beef, goats, sheep, and swine. Attendees started their day with an engaging talk on Animal Nutrition by Megan Torrance of Purina Foods. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
