C.E.F.S. showcased their annual accomplishments in helping people and changing lives. Jean Finley, board chairperson of the C.E.F.S. Conservation World Offers Free Family Fun During Illinois State Fair

•August 10, 2016• Free activities for children and families will give Illinois State Fair visitors a chance to sample the great outdoors in Illinois at Conservation World at this year’s state fair on Aug. 12-21 in Springfield. Conservation World is a 30-acre park with grass, shade trees, and ponds located on the northwest corner of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. •August 10, 2016• The Sullivan Church of God and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a blood drive at the Sullivan Church of God 8 am.-2 p.m. September 10.  Blood donors are encouraged to call drive coordinator, Jeri Davis, at 217-273-9456 to schedule an appointment. Donors may also go to redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment. This is a critical time for blood donations. Blood supplies can be at critical low levels due to summer traveling and vacations. Price Reflects Grain Market •August 10, 2016• By Mike Brothers Bids on the Moultrie County farm opened August 3 reflect changes in the grain market, with this year’s $367 per acre bid, $50 per acre less than the previous two year contract. Building and grounds committee chairman Gary Smith opened proposals from two local farmers for a two year contract. Mark Kuhn, who is currently farming the 217.58 acre county farm, submitted the $367 per acre bid, totaling $79,851.86.
