Impounded Deer Stands Auctioned at Lake Shelbyville

•August 3, 2016• The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a silent auction for 38 impounded deer stands and 10 sets of climbing sticks 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20 at the special events lot next to the government vehicle compound, south of the Lake Shelbyville Administration Building. Since the last sale 43 tree stands have been impounded on Lake Shelbyville for abandonment of personal property or failure to comply with posted restrictions. Taekwondo Students Compete at Invitational

•August 3, 2016• On Saturday June 25, 36 Taekwondo students of Master Kevin Roberts competed in the KTA Mid Illinois Taekwondo Invitational. The students competed against others from Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Thirty-one students of Master Roberts ranked in the top levels which qualified them to compete in the National Grand Championship held in Bossier City Louisiana, and at least four plan to attend to compete for a national title. Council OKs IBEW Contract

•August 3, 2016• By Ariana Cherry For the News Progress The city of Sullivan signed a four-year contract with the Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 51 at their most recent meeting. The contract begins August 1, 2016 and will end July 31, 2020 and includes a 2½ percent raise, sick time which may roll over and accumulate up to 21 days and giving workers Christmas Eve and Christmas day off. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln has been entrusted with her care. Dianah was born November 21, 1955 in Pana, a daughter of Carl Galvin and Patricia McCarty.
