City council approves construction projects

2015 A short-lived men’s softball team, the Sullivan Chiefs, was inducted into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame. Competing in the annual Arthur Invite, the host’s girls finished second and the boys third, while SOV’s boys took 11th. The students represented in the 2014-2015 Cultivating Creativity: Consolidated Communications Children’s Art Exhibition were recognized for their achievement at an awards reception. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
