MCHC “Trivia Night” a hit

The Moultrie County History Center held a Trivia Night on Saturday, March 29th at 6:00 p.m., with dinner served at 5:00 p.m. This RSVP-only event attracted 75 contestants (with 90 people attending in total) to 13 Trivia team tables. The topics covered included world history, art, math, science, and Disney movies, amongst others. Police encourage the MCRTA

Atwood Police Chief Duncan guest speaker •April 9, 2025• Wednesday, April 3, was the first meeting of the year for the MCRTA (Moultrie County Retired Teachers Association). Twenty-five members attended the meeting at the United Church of Atwood. President Vickie Newberry opened with the Pledge and conducted the business meeting. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
