Leak Free Roofs for Sullivan Schools

•March 23, 2016• By Mike Brothers Sullivan students should enjoy leak free roofs and better climate inside following Sullivan Community Unit District #300 school board action March 14. At that meeting the board approved bids to replace the roofs and HVAC systems for the elementary, middle and high schools. The bus garage will also be included in the roof replacement project. Mike Zellers of Graham and Hyde Architects explained coordination will be the key to accomplishing the HVAC and roofing replacements during the course of the summer when students are away from school. Scholastic Bowl Wins Regionals, Ends Season

•March 16, 2016• Sullivan Varsity Scholastic Bowl team won Regionals Monday, March 8 in Maroa-Forsyth. The first match against Oakwood ended 320-110. Grace Mauck had five tossups, Ross Metzger three, Luke Delong three, and Ryan Baker two. The second match of the night was against Argenta-Oreana. Sullivan was victorious winning 280-210. Redskins Ready for Baseball Season

•March 16, 2016• Sullivan Redskins varsity boys’ baseball opens season with Mattoon at home on March 18 and coach Troy Rogers is expecting to be competitive in the conference. The varsity Redskins finished last season with a 23-7 overall record and a 11-2 conference standing. “We have a good mix of leadership and young talent this year,” said Rogers. This is his 16th season as Redskins baseball coach. That leadership includes senior Zach Hrvol, pitching and playing infield.
