25 years ago this week Amanda Howen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howen of Sullivan, participated recently in the Eagle Talent Showcase at the Champaign Holiday Inn. Competing against 20 other area performers, she was chosen to perform on a nationally-syndicated cable TV program called The Nashville Revue Show. She will perform three musical selections before talent agents and record producers. She is a 1985 graduate of the Chicago Academy of the Arts. Alzheimer’s Benefit

•August 19, 2015• Eastview Terrace will have a benefit 6 p.m.-midnight September 5 at the Sullivan VFW. The fun-filled night will include a 50/50 raffle, live band, Dj and karaoke, a silent auction, and a live auction that will include a 500-12 gauge pump combo shotgun, a five foot handmade wooden lighthouse and much more. There will be a $5.00 cover charge. All proceeds will be donated in honor of Eastview’s residents past and present, and they are being donated locally to the National Alzheimer’s Association. Gloria Armer Celebration of Life services for Gloria Armer, 54, of Sullivan were held at 6 p.m. Saturday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Bob Vail officiating. She passed away at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 12, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur. Gloria was born June 8, 1961 in Decatur, a daughter of George William ‘Pat’ and Donnabelle Myers Frazier. She had been a home health care provider with Help at Home in Springfield. She married Rick Armer January 30, 1988 in Sullivan. … Read More

By signing the 2015 Nationwide Cooperative Agreement for the Supervision of State Chartered Credit Unions and the Southeastern Regional Cooperative Interstate Agreement for the Supervision of State Chartered Credit Unions, Illinois gains the ability to promote interstate commerce and cooperation on a reciprocal basis among participating states. … Read More
