•February 12, 2025• The City of Monticello and Make it Monticello Tourism have announced the 11th Piatt County Antique Day on Saturday, March 1st, from 9am-4pm. The event, which began in 2013, is a way to spotlight the antique shops in some of the smallest communities (ex. Cisco, pop. 238) in one of the most rural counties in central Illinois. Allied Capital Title donates to SBL Regional Cancer Center

Allied Capital Title offices of Charleston, Mattoon, Shelbyville, Tuscola and Sullivan recently donated $640 to the SBL Health Foundation to support patients receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center. During the month of October, the offices donated a portion of closing costs to the Regional Cancer Center. 2024 Moultrie County final multiplier announced

•February 12, 2025• Moultrie County has been issued a final property assessment equalization factor of 1.0000, according to David Harris, director of the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR). The property assessment equalization factor, often called the “multiplier,” is the method used to achieve uniform property assessments among counties, as required by law. This equalization is particularly important because some of the state’s 6,600 local taxing districts overlap into two or more counties (e.g., school districts, junior college districts, fire protection districts). by E. Scott England The Lady Redskins played two games last week. At the end of the week, they had outscored their two opponents 137-19. The wins moved them to 24-3 (9-0). The first contest of the week was against Okaw Valley. One could venture a guess that by the end of the first quarter, the game was over.
