Wilson named to Dean’s List at UW-Whitewater

•January 1, 2025• Kennady Wilson, from Bethany, has made the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean’s List for the 2024 fall semester. These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester. “Making the Dean’s List is a tremendous honor. •January 1, 2025• Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their January Quarter Auction on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The event will be held at the Sullivan American Legion Post #68. Moultrie County Illinois PAWS is the charity of the month (find them on Facebook at “Moultrie County Illinois PAWs”).  Moultrie County PAWS uses funds for companion animals in need of discretionary care and treatment. More than 82,000 deer harvested during Illinois firearm deer season

•December 25, 2024• Hunters in Illinois took a preliminary total of 82,496 deer during the seven-day 2024 Illinois firearm deer season that concluded Dec. 8. Comparatively, hunters harvested 76,494 deer during the 2023 firearm season. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
