Stain and Company Overcome Early Shooting Woes to Topple OV 53-38

News Progress Posted on December 11, 2013 by webmasterMarch 29, 2014

OV’s shooting unable to catch up by Kirk Whitaker Arthur/Sullivan Reporter Okaw Valley against Sullivan has been a heated rivalry in any sport the two teams aren’t co-opped in during recent seasons. The Timberwolves came into Tuesday night’s contest off a loss against Central A&M while Sullivan earned its first win of the young season at Windsor in which the ‘skins held the Blue Devils to 28 percent shooting. Yet, in the beginning of the game both teams shot atrociously—from the 6:30 mark to 2:41 to go in the first quarter, neither team scored. … Read More

Molzen and Frerichs’ Double-Doubles Push Team Past Windsor 57-48

News Progress Posted on December 11, 2013 by webmasterMarch 29, 2014

Windsor’s Allen also earns double duty by Kirk Whitaker Arthur/Sullivan Reporter Both Sullivan and Windsor came into Friday night’s game looking to get off the snide. Windsor previously fell short in overtime and was defeated by five by Shelbyvile—while Sullivan fell to Arthur and St. Anthony last week as well. As such, last Friday’s game was hard fought. Yet with a close halftime score of 18-17 in favor of the Redskins, there were some exciting performances in the first half, especially from sophomore Ty Molzen. The 6’4” Molzen scored Sullivan’s first two points off an offensive rebound and was responsible … Read More

News Progress Posted on December 11, 2013 by webmasterMarch 29, 2014

by Cara Allen U of I Extension Family Life Educator You may think of forgiveness as a gift that costs you more than you’re willing to give. Although forgiveness is a non-traditional holiday gift, one that you can’t wrap up and put under a tree, it may be appreciated more than any other gift you’ve ever offered.  … Read More

Spring Illinois Legislators

News Progress Posted on December 11, 2013 by webmasterMarch 29, 2014

There is no middle ground in the debate between the “naturalists” and the big seed companies over the touted evils and virtues, respectively, of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). … Read More

Early on the two teams played back and forth, but Sullivan held a 12-10 advantage. The Redskins got to the foul line early and often, but the free throws didn’t fall as often as Sullivan hoped. … Read More
