Shuttle service takes off at Lake Shelbyville

2014 The Lovington Public Library district has announced the retirement of library director Suzy Saunders effective June 30, following 20 years of service. Lake Shelbyville lands IHSA Fishing Tournament

•June 19, 2024• by Sharon Barricklow Patience and consistency help fishermen land the big fish and the same qualities worked for the Lake Shelbyville area as the Illinois High School Association selected the lake as the next home of the IHSA State Bass Fishing Tournament. The tournament, begun in 2009 has spent 15 years at Lake Carlyle. Sullivan 4th of July Celebration

On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
